There is normally a waiting list of about 3 to 4 months. When a place becomes available we will contact you and arrange an initial parent/guardian consult meeting with the Support Worker.
Your child needs consent from both parents/guardians.
No – we are not a counselling service and do not attempt to emulate the role of a counsellor. We provide a support service that listens and is compassionate to a child’s feelings – helping them come to terms with their grief.
No, it is very important that the Centre is not seen as ‘school’ or an activity forced upon them. We are guided very much by the child’s state of readiness – and progress accordingly.
For families who have experienced loss and bereavement through suicide, we would recommend to contact Pieta House.
We will never become involved in parental differences or attempt to ‘take sides’ on a situation. Our focus is only ever on the child and his/her feelings.
We do not charge a fee. We do however accept donations from parents/guardians and they are able to donate anonymously via a donation box in our waiting area or online on this website.
