Background

Founded in 2009, The Children’s Grief Centre provides one to one support for school aged children and young people (4-18yrs) affected by loss through death, separation, or divorce. We offer a safe and supportive place for children, young people and their families who are grieving. Children are given the opportunity to look at feelings associated with loss and learn that they are not alone. We aim to help children overcome obstacles that prevent them from leading full lives.

The Children’s Grief Centre are seeking to recruit a Consultant to facilitate a strategic planning process to produce the new three year Strategy. (2024-2027). The Individual will play a critical role in shaping the long-term direction and success of the Children’s Grief Centre. This Plan should be based on a review of the company’s current state, identifying growth opportunities, and developing actionable plans to achieve our mission and objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in planning, research, and project management within the nonprofit sector.

Required Qualifications/Expertise

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Social Science, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or a related role within the nonprofit sector.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. (with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies).
  4. Strategic thinker with a passion for the charity’s mission. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams and with a range of stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate workshops and groups with experience in active listening, participatory techniques and conflict management
  7. High level of organisational, time management and leadership skills.

  • Projected methodology, timeline, deliverables
  • Tax clearance certificate
  • Proposed Cost/Pricing Structure
  • Two references related to similar work undertaken
